Online grants

Additional Restrictions Grants

There are now two further grant programmes available to support businesses affected by the latest lockdown which began on the 5th November. The Local Restrictions Support Grant is for those businesses ordered to close, and who have a Business Rates account. The Additional Restrictions Grant is for businesses forced to close but unable to access the Local Restrictions Support Grant because they don’t have a separate business rates account, or who haven’t been forced to close but are nonetheless severely impacted by the national government restrictions put in place to control the spread of Covid-19.

Ben Hale

Welcome to Ben Hale

The Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP Growth Hub has recently appointed Ben Hale as Business Advisor for Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove and Redditch based businesses who are looking to grow or need assistance.

Ben’s work history started in the financial services sector as a relationship manager and has since moved between Department for international Trade, National Trade Associations and most recently business engagement for a local FE college. ‘I am really excited to be working for the GBS Growth Hub and I look forward to meeting and supporting the business community of North Worcestershire in what are challenging and difficult times for businesses.’

The GBS Growth Hub provides advice and signposting to over 250 referral partners who provide grants, projects, proof of concept and innovation support, skills advice and many other areas of support for businesses in the local area.

Festive fun and looking forward

Thirty North Worcestershire business leaders got together over zoom this week to wish each other festive greetings and raise money for Primrose Hospice based in Bromsgrove. The annual NWBL (North Worcestershire Business Leaders) Christmas Lunch at Hogarths Stone Manor was swapped for an online quiz and silent auction as a way for the group to get together at Christmas time this year.  Melanie Hawkett, NWBL founder said, “It’s been a very challenging year for many of us. Let’s harness our skills, talents and enthusiasm ready for 2021 when hopefully we can meet face to face again”.  North Worcestershire Business Leaders is a growing group of professionals who meet to share, connect and learn.  If you are interested in joining NWBL contact melanie@nwbusinessleaders.co.uk

Shops and Businesses to Sparkle and Shine

Shops and businesses across Bromsgrove are invited to share their sparkle and shine as the District Council hosts a Festive Best Dressed Window Competition.

In partnership with Bromsgrove Court Leet and The Bromsgrove Society, the annual competition is set to go ahead – but with a little bit of a difference in light of the Tier 2 restrictions.  Closing date for photographs is this Sunday December 13.
