Local restriction tiers
From yesterday the new local restriction tier system is in place where different tiers of restrictions apply in different parts of the country.

NWedR has collated information on the current grants and support available to North Worcestershire businesses. This, ‘at a glance’ summary has been designed to provide a quick overview for business leaders across the area. This will be updated regularly and displayed on the front page of our website.

Additional Restrictions Grants
There are now two further grant programmes available to support businesses affected by the latest lockdown which began on the 5th November. The Local Restrictions Support Grant is for those businesses ordered to close, and who have a Business Rates account. The Additional Restrictions Grant is for businesses forced to close but unable to access the Local Restrictions Support Grant because they don’t have a separate business rates account, or who haven’t been forced to close but are nonetheless severely impacted by the national government restrictions put in place to control the spread of Covid-19.

Making a Christmas Bubble with friends and family
As we all make our festive plans, The Government has issued guidance for the arrangements for friends and family to meet over the Christmas period from 23 December until 27 December.

Shops and Businesses to Sparkle and Shine
Shops and businesses across Bromsgrove are invited to share their sparkle and shine as the District Council hosts a Festive Best Dressed Window Competition.
In partnership with Bromsgrove Court Leet and The Bromsgrove Society, the annual competition is set to go ahead – but with a little bit of a difference in light of the Tier 2 restrictions.

Make It Worcestershire
The Make It Worcestershire campaign to support the county’s food and drink industry is gathering pace. More and more growers and producers are joining the campaign every week. The campaign which has been developed by One Worcestershire and the Worcestershire food and Drink Association successfully launched in August 2020 at Bell’s Farm Shop in Stourport on Severn. The campaign aims to provide local producers, retailers and hospitality venues with much-needed support now and over the coming months.

Webinars aimed at self employed
The Government is running seminars throughout December aimed at supporting businesses affected by Coronavirus. The webinars provide an overview of the Self-Employment Income Support Grant Extension and further support available for the self-employed.

Kidderminster Carpet Museum offers iconic office space
This winter the Museum of Carpet, Kidderminster is offering a tenant the rare opportunity to occupy a fully refurbished office within its historic and iconic building.
The office suite is on the first floor of the Museum in Green Street. It comprises an approximate net internal area of 825 sq.ft. or 76.6 sq.m with an adjoining kitchen and toilet. This bright modern space benefits from 24/7 access, a lift, air conditioning, central heating, and lots of natural light.

Walk to the moon together in 2021
The Worcestershire Ambassadors have launched their fund raising cause for next year. Walk the Walk 2021 is all about encouraging and supporting good mental health and well-being. Ambassadors across the county want people to join them in recording the distance they walk/run as they collectively try to reach the mile equivalent distance of the moon. Entry is £10, and participants are asked to raise as much additional sponsorship as they can throughout the year. The Worcestershire Ambassadors will then reinvest these funds in supporting good mental health for all in the county.
