Councillor Shazu Miah

Progressive Alliance lead council

The district council elections in May saw all 33 seats contested and there was a significant change in the political make-up of the council. We now have 14 Conservative, 8 Independent Community and Health Concern (ICHC), 5 Independent, 3 Liberal Democrat, 2 Labour and 1 Green Party councillors. A Progressive Alliance made up of the ICHC group, the Independent,   Liberal Democrat and Green group with the support of the Labour Group has formed the administration.  Councillor Graham Ballinger (ICHC) was elected Leader and he has appointed a Cabinet of four other members. The new chairman of the council is Councillor Shazu Miah (pictured above).

Housing survey image

Chaddesley housing needs

We’re asking local people in Chaddesley Corbett to let us know what kind of housing they need and what their housing requirements will be in the future. To do this we’re asking people who live in the parish (and people looking to move back there) to take part in a survey. The results will help us develop our housing and planning policies. The survey closes on Wednesday 26 June 2019. If you’re a Chaddesley resident or know someone who’d like to be, please complete our online questionnaire.

Black bin bags outside charity shop

Let’s SCRAP Flytipping!

We continue to fight flytipping across our beautiful district, investigating incidents, issuing fixed penalty notices and prosecuting those responsible. But did you know you could help play your part in reducing the amount of waste dumped in the countryside by making sure you only pay responsible carriers to dispose of your unwanted items?  You may not be aware but leaving bags outside closed charity shops and leaving items out for others or beside communal bins is also flytipping.  Join us to help SCRAP Flytipping!
