Sponsors on board for first North Worcestershire Business Awards

All but one of the sponsorship opportunities are now taken for the first ever North Worcestershire Business Awards.  Sponsors will be announced soon, and organisation for this exciting event being held this November at Hogarth’s Stone Manor is well underway. Entries will be open from Thursday June 6. The North Worcestershire Business awards are being organised by NWedR and North Worcestershire Business Leaders with support from North Worcestershire Ambassadors.

Business Growth Programme 2

The Business Growth Programme 2 is open for entries now

If your business needs funding to grow and develop, check out the BGP2. The new £23.5 million Business Growth Programme 2 (BGP2) has launched and the first funding round is open for applications.  The deadline for submission of applications is Friday 1st May 2019.  North Worcestershire businesses can apply for grants from £10,000 to £1,000,000 and they are designed to strengthen supply chains, stimulate innovation and help businesses grow.

Nominations are now open for the 2019 Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards.  There are Employer Categories – Small Medium and Large, Apprentice – Intermediate, Advanced and Higher, School of the Year, Careers Lead of the year, Training Provider, Apprentice Champion. 

If you are a previous winner you can still enter and you can nominate yourself.

Generic High Street

Supporting our High Streets

In March, NWedR worked on behalf of Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest Local Authorities to prepare their expressions of interest in the Government’s £675 Million High Streets Fund programme.  The Fund aims to support and finance local areas’ plans to make their high streets and town centres fit for the future. We will know if our proposals have been taken to the next stage over the summer, so we will let you know when we do.

The popular Growth Forum series hosted by H&W Chamber of Commerce returns on Thursday 16 May 2019 at Worcestershire County Cricket Club. The focus is Technology. This forum is for business decision makers who need to know about technology trends that will affect their business and how to prepare now to take advantage of Digital Transformation in the next 5 years. Technology is crucial to every aspect of a business, working with “The Cloud", operating a remote workforce and incorporating automation are happening now. With speakers from Dell and Canon, this forum will outline the future of technology and business. It is aimed at a non-technical audience, so you don’t need to be an IT Guru to attend.

Worcestershire Works Well (WWW) is a FREE accreditation scheme designed to support businesses to improve the health and well-being of their employees. Improved employee health and well-being has been shown to improve profitability and productivity of businesses. Worcestershire Works Well is open to public, private and third sector organisations that are located in the county. Businesses interested in signing up should visit the website and complete the submission form. A representative from WWW will then be in touch to arrange a visit to the business to discuss the toolkit and standards.

MPC Redditch

Business of the Month – MPC Redditch

 

Featured on the North Worcestershire Celebrating North Worcestershire Calendar this month, is MPC Redditch.

MPC Redditch Ltd was formed in 2010 by Gavin Chapman and Ian Pantling with a couple of moulding machines. The business primarily was a manufacturer of caps and closures for the food, beverage and medical sectors. This business developed over the next two years and MPC were constantly asked if they would mould other components from sledges to buckets. MPC decided to invest in a 300t injection moulding machine to cope with this additional demand it was then the business was able to expand to the 12 injection moulding machines they have today.
