 Later this month the library service will be changing over to a new library website, catalogue and app.
Look out for special newsletters in the next few weeks where we’ll be emailing you with updates and details about this.
Please be aware that during the transition, there will be some changes to our normal service.
We are planning for all West Sussex libraries to be closed on Monday 19, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 January to enable staff to change over to the new system. All libraries will re-open at their normal times on Thursday 22 January.

 We are really excited to be supporting Go All In, a national campaign designed to inspire more people to make reading a regular part of their lives by reconnecting reading with the things that inspire us.
Throughout the year the library service will be highlighting our reading activities for all ages across West Sussex and ways for you to be involved.
What better way to start a new reading habit than by joining My Year of Reading our 2026 reading challenge which is suitable for individuals, reading groups and families taking part together. You’ll explore 12 themes, each one encouraging you to build small, meaningful reading moments into your routine and improving your wellbeing.

 High quality health information can have a huge impact on your ability to stay healthy and manage illnesses effectively, giving you a better quality of life.
This year there are five core themes: Children and Young People, Translated Patient Information, Women’s Health, Mental Health and Winter Health.
Your library is a great place to go for trusted information. We have a whole webpage dedicated to Health Information. You can also contact us with any queries by completing an Ask a Librarian form.
Information can also be found in pharmacies and GP practices, on the NHS website, at patient.info and with established charities or health organisations.
Join local historian Alan Green for a talk entitled 'From Stagecoach to Stagecoach - 300 Years of Travel in the Lavant Valley'.
The talk will be held at West Sussex Record Office in Chichester (and online) on Monday 23 March at 3pm.
