Friday 10 January 2025
We have been made aware of an issue with a number of Early Years Funded Entitlement (EYFE) for Working Families eligibility codes. Families who applied prior to 31 December 2024 and have their application approved before 14 January 2025 should have codes that allow you to claim. However, many of these codes are instead stating the code is not eligible for use this term. This is an error which the Department for Education is currently working to fix. They have informed us any codes issued from today (Friday 10 January 2025) onwards should validate correctly, and any issued prior to yesterday will be fixed shortly.
In the meantime, if you are submitting actuals, but you are unable to validate the code for the current term and the scenario above applies, please email free.entitlement@westsussex.gov.uk, providing the following information:
- name of child,
- date of Birth (DOB) of child,
- parent full name,
- parent DOB,
- parent National Insurance Number,
- confirmation you have consent to use the above information to validate eligibility, and
- hours and weeks you wish to claim.
If the code is for a 3 and 4 year old, please submit any Universal EYFE hours you are claiming first, then contact us to add the Extended EYFE for Working Families eligibility and hours. Please also continue to submit actuals for other children while we resolve outstanding EYFE for Working Families issues separately.
