As a provider of EYFE in West Sussex, your input is invaluable as we explore potential enhancements to payment schedules. The EYFE Payment Consultation began in June 2024. The first survey was open for three weeks in June and July, with results published in our early years funding special newsletter on Monday 9 September 2024.
To ensure all perspectives from the wide variety of EYFE providers in West Sussex are considered, all private, voluntary and independent early years and childcare providers who currently offer EYFE must complete the Stage Two survey.
The way West Sussex maintained nursery schools and nursery classes are paid will not change, and they do not need to complete this survey.
The survey will present two options:
- receiving two payments per term, or
- receiving payments monthly.
You will be asked to specify which of these two options you prefer, and to answer a series of questions depending on your answer. The option you choose at this stage will not require you to commit to it permanently. You will be given the opportunity to specify which payment schedule you wish to opt into when the new payment schedule(s) are officially launched.

The Stage Two survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. The deadline for completing the survey is 11:59 pm on Sunday 8 December.
