Do you never have enough time to read? Why not try listening to your favourite books whilst you’re on the move?
All our libraries have a wide range of audiobooks on CD available for you to borrow. In our 12 largest libraries we also have Playaways; pre-loaded audiobooks that run on batteries. Just plug in your earphones and they're ready to use.
You can search for audiobooks via the library website or app and reserve items for free (with a small hire charge to borrow).
We also have a range of eAudiobooks available 24/7 which can be found on Libby, BorrowBox and uLibrary. Each platform has a different range of titles, and all are free to download with your library card. Happy listening!
Have you discovered Quick Reads yet?
These are short books and great stories by bestselling authors.
Why not try a Quick Read by Peter James, Kate Mosse or Graham Norton? They are written to be enjoyed by less confident adult readers too.
The new 2024 titles by Kia Abdullah, Malorie Blackman, Matt Cain, Kit de Waal, Jo Nesbo and Karen Swan will be published later this month.
Search ‘Quick Reads’ on our online catalogue or visit your local library to order current or past titles. These books are free to request and don’t incur overdue charges, so try one today!
There is still time to book onto one of our hay-larious Easter holiday activities!
We’ll be sharing a-moo-sing stories and quacking good crafts.
All activities are free, but booking a place with the library is essential

- Towards the end of April, printers in all libraries are being updated, which will cause some disruption to printing services. We will try to keep installation times to a minimum and there will be a poster displayed in each library showing the date of the planned printer update.
