Urgent Action Required: Ofsted Area SEND Inspection Survey
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are visiting West Sussex, as part of an inspection looking at arrangements for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25.
To help the inspectors understand your experience of SEND arrangements in your area we would like your assistance in sharing the survey. The survey will close at 9.00am on 21 November 2023.

There are four guidance documents to help you communicate the survey to practitioners, parents and carers, and importantly children.
If possible encourage access to the survey via the link: Ofsted Area SEND Inspection Survey.
Everyone will be supported on the website to go to the right survey for them, including children.
‘Information about surveys for stakeholders’ can be used to write to practitioners, parents, and carers individually.
For individuals who wish to access a hard copy, and return by email, instructions and the survey can be found by printing or attaching the following documents:
Please use the ‘Parent and Carer Easy Read’ to share with your families of children with SEND. The survey can be completed multiple times for families with more than one child with SEND. Please consider promoting this specifically to the parents and carers whose children are in receipt of Inclusion Funding or have been referred to SEND Under 5’s.
Where appropriate please use the ‘Children and Young People survey’ which can be completed by adults with their child. This has a lovely child centred introduction which may be more useful than the information for other stakeholders covering letters.
