Supplementary Grant for Free Entitlement Funding Rates increase from September 2023
Today, the Department for Education (DfE) published the Early Years Supplementary Grant (EYSG) funding rate allocations and details for the period September 2023 to March 2024. This is allocated through a new standalone top-up grant, instead of through the normal Dedicated Schools Grant. When looking at the funding rates in the table, we recommend that you look at the increased funding being provided, rather than the total funding provided by the government.
If you are unsure of, and would like to understand, how the current funding rates have been calculated in West Sussex, please see the video shared in newsletter #270.
We will publish the revised West Sussex rates as soon as possible, once approved, which will commence from the start of autumn term 2023. The EYSG will be subject to conditions of grant which the DfE expect to publish in September.
