Listen out for the jungle drums this Easter and swing into action with exciting storytime and craft activities for children at your local library during the school holidays.
These activities are free to attend but places must be pre-booked. Find out which libraries are holding these special events for families on our website.
You can also join the Disability Register team for some free Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) events taking place in several libraries this Easter break, including SEND-friendly construction clubs and sensory story and craft sessions.
Libraries will be closed on Good Friday – 7 April and Easter Monday – 10 April.
Normal opening hours will apply on all other dates including Saturday 8 April.
Most regular activities will continue over the Easter period, with the exception of those which fall on a Bank Holiday.
With the annual World Book Night celebration of reading taking place on Sunday 23 April, there’s no better time to dip into a book!
If you struggle to find the time to read, why not try a ‘Quick Read’ by a bestselling author such as Peter James, Milly Johnson or Jojo Moyes? They are written to be easy to read for less confident readers too.
Browse the full list of titles then order for free via our online catalogue or through your local library. These books don’t incur overdue charges, so try one today!
Look out in next month's newsletter for activities to celebrate King Charles III's coronation in our libraries.
Meanwhile, join Screen Archive South East and West Sussex Record Office for a special online event that will reveal how past coronations were celebrated in West Sussex – in archive documents, photographs and some quite remarkable films.
This free event will be held online at 7.00pm on Tuesday 18 April.
Gardening is amazing for your wellbeing, and however large or small your garden is, we have the book for you. From garden design and choosing the right plants, to gardening for wildlife. From growing plants on your windowsill to managing your allotment. And don’t forget those cookery books for recipes using your produce.
Then on sunny days just sit in your deckchair and enjoy your own outside space with a cuppa!
And remember that all these non-fiction books are free to reserve!

You will receive full training and ongoing support. To find out more, email the West Sussex volunteering team or call Michelle Martin on 07764 805685.

It's always good security practice to change your PIN or passwords regularly on any online account. That applies to your library PIN code too.
You can change your library PIN on the library website by signing in and looking up ‘My profile’ and then ‘My account’ under ‘My pages’.
If you don’t know your library PIN, you can pop into any library with some identification and talk to a member of staff or request a PIN reset.
