The Summer Reading Challenge is back for another year! It’s free to take part and children can read any library books of their choice.
If you haven’t signed up yet, simply register for Gadgeteers online then head down to your local library to collect a goody bag. Each bag contains a fold-out map and scratch ‘n’ sniff stickers, plus other incentives.
Medals and certificates are available from Monday 1 August for children who complete the challenge.
We’d also love to see you at one of our special Gadgeteers activities this month – booking is essential so get in quick!
You can find out more about the Summer Reading Challenge on our Gadgeteers web page.
We know that, as a member, you already love your local library but we need your help to spread the word about the many things we offer beyond the books.

Hear from Engagement Officer, Amy Stone, about the Dialect and Heritage project and how it relates to three West Sussex villages: East Harting, Sutton and Warnham.
Based on the Survey of English Dialects, undertaken in the 1950s and 1960s, this talk will highlight some of the material held at the Leeds archive of vernacular culture which relates to West Sussex, as well as the work of the project, to build a picture of our language landscape today.
This free online talk will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 30 August at 7.00pm.
