March 2022
Wellbeing Month 2022
March is our Wellbeing Month where we celebrate and highlight all that libraries do to support wellbeing! Have a look at our Wellbeing Month 2022 page for a great range of book suggestions and activities, including library staff recommendations, the Reading Well scheme, details of drop-in events by Apetito meals on wheels, a wellbeing author talk for Crawley WORDfest, a new online reminiscence session and more!
Visit your local library in March and pick up a book from the Read Your Way to Wellbeing displays and have a look at our What's on in Libraries page to find out which of our regular events have returned.
Regular activities at your local library
Are you a crafty person who likes chatting to like-minded people? Are you a parent or carer of a young child? Do you fancy challenging someone to a chess match? You can once again drop into a number of our regular activities in libraries!
Whilst capacity is still limited, we are no longer taking bookings for the following sessions – so you can just turn up to:
Baby Rhyme Time
Toddler Time
Storytime
Knit and Natter
Board Games
Relax With Colouring
Please be aware that we may need to turn visitors away if a session becomes full, so it is always best to arrive in good time. We look forward to welcoming you!
Crawley WORDfest
Crawley WORDfest returns this year with a mix of online and in-person events and Crawley Library is delighted to be hosting some of them.
Lying for a Living on 17 March is a crime panel with authors Neil Broadfoot, Susi Holliday, M. K. Hill and host Derek Farrell.
Do you consider yourself an aspiring author? Acclaimed young adult author Eve Ainsworth will be running a FREE Creative Writing Workshop with Eve Ainsworth on 19 March.
If you want to hear an inspiring talk about the importance of running for your mental health, journalist, author and marathon runner Phil Hewitt will be talking about his book Outrunning the Demonson 22 March.
Keen to put your book knowledge to the test? We’re also hosting the WORDfest Quiz on 24 March.
If you’re interested in any of these events and many, many more across Crawley, be sure to book your WORDfest ticket.
