Successful pilots of our Knit and Natter groups have been held in a few libraries, and staff are now working behind the scenes, doing those all-important risk assessments to bring back activities in other libraries.
We have also run some pilot Baby Rhyme Times for small, invited audiences, with some singing, some action rhymes and shaking of instruments. A lovely time was had by all and we are looking forward to welcoming back these groups into more libraries soon!
Groups for these activities will be smaller, to allow for social distancing, so please bear with us if you are not able to attend straightaway. Ask your local library for more details.

As part of the gradual reintroduction of activities across West Sussex libraries, our Computer Buddy service is coming back!
Friendly and patient digital volunteers will once again be offering one-to-one basic support at a number of libraries during September: Bognor Regis, Crawley, East Grinstead, Shoreham, Steyning and Witterings.
These free sessions are COVID-safe and last up to one hour, assisting with:
- Emails
- Online shopping
- Video calls
- Staying safe online
- Downloading and using the NHS App
Please phone the library directly to make a booking. We’ll be adding more locations in October, but if you can’t wait that long, why not try our Remote Digital Support Service?

Look out – there's a jellyfish hanging about! We have had such fun welcoming families to Summer Reading Challenge events across the county this week.
Staff have been able to share some lovely stories and create lots of brilliant wild-themed crafts, such as pine-cone animals and making jellyfish from recycled materials.
The events are not happening in every library, but we are using the activities as trials to help us plan how we bring back our regular events in the autumn in a COVID-safe way.
