West Sussex County Council has received £1.6M from the Government's Holiday Activities and Food Programme to support children eligible for Free School Meals. As part of this, the Council want to work with organisations, community groups and schools across the county to provide activities and food for school aged children in the summer and/or Christmas holidays.
If your organisation is able to provide any or all of the following, we would like to hear about how we can work with you to support as many eligible children as possible over the summer and Christmas holidays:
- activities and food,
- activities only, or
- food only.
We are interested in proposals from existing providers who may be already delivering within one or more areas of the county, and from providers who would be interested in 'scaling up' their current provision.
This funding is for school aged children eligible for Free School Meals to join holiday clubs/activities and receive a nutritional meal. Additional funding has also been made available for early years providers but Expressions of Interest will be submitted through a different route. More information will be made available about this in the near future.
Expressions of Interest should be submitted online. Organisations will be asked to describe their proposal and how it meets the government's requirements. The closing date for Expressions of Interest is Midday Tuesday 8 June 2021 so that we can confirm funding as soon as possible.
Guidelines on the Governments requirements are set out at the Department for Education’s HAF webpage. Should you have any queries please email HAF@westsussex.gov.uk.
