Special Broadcast: Now live - Contain Outbreak Management Fund - Round 2 (Out of school provision and childminders who do not offer Free Entitlement)

Earlier this year, West Sussex County Council (WSCC) secured £500,000 to support Free Entitlement (FE) Providers with the challenges of operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are delighted to announce that WSCC have now secured an additional £100,000 for Breakfast Clubs, Out of School Clubs, Holiday Playschemes and Childminders who do not offer FE places.

This is a temporary package of financial support in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, taken from the West Sussex Contain Outbreak Management Fund (COMF).

Possible uses for the grant could include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning supplies/deep cleaning of the childcare environment;
  • Purchase of supplies and resources where a risk of cross-contamination exists; and/or
  • To support with any additional costs that have been incurred as a result of the pandemic.

Please read this additional information carefully before applying.

Successful applicants will clearly demonstrate how the grant can be used to offset the logistical costs of running their provision during the pandemic and any funding awarded will be proportionate to the time the provision was open throughout the different restrictions.

Applicants must be a currently Ofsted-registered private, voluntary or independent early years and childcare provider, who does not offer Free Entitlement places and based in West Sussex. Applications will close at midnight on Wednesday 21 April 2021.

Once you have read the additional information, you can apply online.

Although this funding will not be able to cover every aspect of the impact of the pandemic on your business, this grant will be a contribution towards covering some of those additional costs you have faced. If you have any queries relating to this grant, please speak to your Early Years and Childcare Advisor.
