EYC Special Broadcast: COVID-19 testing within early years and childcare settings

West Sussex County Council has received a notification from central government regarding COVID-19 testing within the early years and childcare sector. We are working with our colleagues in Public Health to understand exactly what the requirements are, as well as exploring a range of options for how this testing will be made available to you.

We recognise that many of you have been asking about testing within the sector so hopefully this will be welcome news. Please be aware that regular testing of staff does not replace the need for COVID secure working practices in limiting the spread of the virus.

We welcome your patience regarding this matter, whilst we work through the logistics of this, and will communicate arrangements to you as soon as we are able. We continue to thank you for all your hard work, during these challenging and often exhausting times, as we know what a difference early education and childcare makes to the lives of so many children and their families.
