Library Volunteer Newsletter - Latest News

Important

Dear Home Library Direct Volunteer

You may have seen in our latest customer newsletter that, following the government announcement on Monday 4 January, you can still return and collect reserved items at our library doors.

The new restrictions confirm that you may leave the home to provide voluntary or charitable services if you cannot reasonably do so from home. You may therefore continue to use the Select and Collect or Staff Select services to obtain books/library items on behalf of your Home Library Direct customers providing you are happy to volunteer outside your home and:

The current guidance for volunteering states that if you’re clinically vulnerable (moderate risk from coronavirus), you can still volunteer outside your home.

However, clinically extremely vulnerable people should not volunteer outside their home. If you are classed as clinically extremely vulnerable or at high risk of severe illness from coronavirus, please let me know as soon as possible and do not continue your role as a Home Library Direct Volunteer.

Keeping you safe

Safety First

As always, the safety of our staff, volunteers and customers remains our priority and we have now reviewed the following documents for your Home Library Direct Volunteer role:

It’s still very important that you read and continue to follow the revised guidance You should also continue to follow social distancing advice and minimise contact with others to reduce your chances of catching or spreading the virus.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Please also let me know if your circumstances or health have changed since we completed your individual risk assessment so that we discuss any concerns and update our records.

Thank you so much for your continued support and commitment as a Home Library Direct Volunteer. It really does make a difference at this difficult time!
