Final Reminder - Online Provider Portal Planned Maintenance

This is a reminder that the Online Provider Portal (OPP) will be unavailable between midnight Friday 21 February and Tuesday 25 February 2020 whilst we upgrade our technology.

This will affect all tasks within the OPP (including submission of Termly Provider Profile and Staff Update forms).

Please note that parents and carers will not be able to submit 2 year old Free Entitlement applications between these times.

Our FIS childcare website will also be unavailable to the public for one day only on Tuesday 25 February 2020.

Online resources to improve outcomes for children

Over the last few months, a number of resources have been developed to support early years providers to work with families and improve outcomes for children. Have you seen these resources? Are you using them with your families?

Have a look and see if you think they would be helpful to share:

Have You Heard About Family Assist?

What is Family Assist?

Family Assist* is an information portal aiming to support families across West Sussex during pregnancy, birth and throughout the life of their child. Some of the benefits to parents include:

  • information relevant to the stage of pregnancy, or age of your child delivered directly to your email box;
  • up-to-date accurate information written by local Midwives, Health Visitors and Early Years professionals;
  • the ability to invite family and friends to share in your journey and receive the same information as you; and
  • an ‘ask a question’ facility for when you can’t find what you’re looking for.

Parents and soon to be parents wishing to sign up should contact their Midwife or Health Visitor or alternatively visit www.westsussex.gov.uk/familyassist.

Family Assist can also be used as an information resource for yourself around health-related queries.

Please help us promote Family Assist to your parents by downloading and sharing the attached leaflet and/or include with your displays.

*Please note: Anyone in West Sussex with a child under the age of 3 can register, however some information relating to hospital care/services is specific to Western Sussex Hospitals. If you are receiving maternity care from another hospital, please check with your midwife about any possible variations in the care/services they provide.
