Upcoming changes made to 11 West Sussex
Household Waste Recycling Sites (HWRSs) will come into effect from 1 October
2016.
The changes include: updated opening days and times,
new non-household waste disposal charges and the closure of some
Chichester District mobile recycling sites.
The decision was taken after considering
residents' responses from the public consultation and comments from Parish,
District and Borough Councils.
Further information about the
changes can be read online from Tuesday 6 September.

Pledge your support to ‘Safer in our
hands’ - a campaign to keep our local fire crews working for the communities
across West Sussex.
Plans by the Sussex Police and Crime
Commissioner’s office will look at taking over West Sussex Fire and Rescue
Service.
We believe it should remain part of
the County Council because the service doesn’t just respond to emergency
situations – it works closely with other Council services to make communities
safer, stronger and more resilient.
Sign the
online petition by 30 September 2016 at www.westsussex.gov.uk/saferinourhands.

If you would like to take the first steps towards
adoption, please call 0330 222 7777 or email fostering.adoption@westsussex.gov.uk.
You can also find out about information sessions coming up at www.westsussex.gov.uk/adoption.

The County Council has been working in partnership with
the West Sussex Local Safeguarding Children’s Board to help raise awareness of
Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in West Sussex.
New materials include:
- An online safety guide for parents and carers
- Special educational needs and disabilities booklet
- ‘Spot the signs’ awareness posters; and
- A guide to CSE for taxi companies.
It is vital that we stand together to prevent CSE and support the
understanding of how to spot the signs.
All materials can be downloaded for free via our CSE campaign page.
Tweet us your thoughts @WSCCNews and help us #StandAgainstCSE.
