There’s something for everyone, from storytimes for younger children to imagination and illustration workshops. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to engage with the world of storytelling. This year's authors include AF Harrold, Terrie Chilvers, and Hannah Lee.
 Celebrating Black History Month
Next month we'll be marking Black History Month with a photography exhibition at Wokingham Library.
Made up of portraits, the exhibition celebrates the stories, heritage and contributions of Black residents, staff and councillors across the borough - marking this year's theme of 'Honouring our Communities'.
The exhibition, in collaboration with the Voice of Inclusion and Equality (VINE) will open on Monday 5 October at a launch event from 6pm to 8pm. Visitors will be able to view the portraits, read participants' stories and hear from some of the people featured about their experiences and what belonging means to them.
If you are interested in attending the launch event, please email: wokinghamvine@wokingham.gov.uk
The exhibition will be open during normal library opening hours from Tuesday 6 October for the rest of October.
Pop into your local library during Black History Month to discover a selection of books about Black history, books written by Black authors, or find out more now on our blog.

 ReTec donations
Wokingham Lions Club are recycling used laptop computers to donate them to families and individuals facing financial hardship.
This project is run jointly by the Wokingham Lions with First Days Children’s Charity and with the assistance of Wokingham Borough Libraries. The Wokingham Lions collect and refurbish the laptops, First Days provide the premises and oversee distribution of the refurbished items, while Wokingham Libraries assist by providing collection points.
How can you help? The Wokingham Lions are looking for working laptops, preferably those that came with Windows 7 or later. They can also accept Chromebooks.
Please drop them off to Wokingham, Lower Earley or Woodley Libraries along with any power supplies, mice or laptop bags. All laptops will be completely cleaned, refurbished and tested, with hard discs securely erased before use.
