We're still following communications restrictions that apply to all councils in the run-up to today's (7 May) elections. From next week, we'll go back to looking at wider highways and transport issues alongside routine updates.

New route to be available once link road built
We're planning to open a new link road between Easthampstead Road and Waterloo Road, at the southern outskirts of Wokingham, on Friday 29 May.
This will run from opposite the junction of Heathlands Road to the roundabout at the junction of William Heelas Way, near Montague Park.
It's part of the South Wokingham Distributor Road project, which will see a section of Easthampstead Road to the north of Heathlands Road become a cul-de-sac.
The distributor road, connecting Finchampstead Road near the Tesco superstore with Waterloo Road, will provide access to planned new homes in this area.
See our latest South Wokingham newsletter for a detailed update. The link road opening date is subject to final testing and we'll share any changes here.
Main road works will continue to year's end
Easthampstead Road remains closed between Star Lane, north of the level crossing, and just north of the Heathlands Road junction.
This is while we tie it in with the new distributor road, which crosses Easthampstead Road to the south of the railway and is due to be finished by early 2027.
Until the link road opens, the best way to Holme Grange Craft Village is from the south off Heathlands Road (via Nine Mile Ride) or Easthampstead Road (via Old Wokingham Road). It's still open seven days a week, with free parking.
Change of date for Woodley road closure switch
As work progresses on a new active travel route between Woodley and Reading, the road closures will be moving further west along Woodlands Avenue soon.
In the next few weeks, the road between Woodwaye and Howth Drive will reopen, with a new closure and diversion between Howth Drive and Fairwater Drive.
We said this would happen on Tuesday (12 May) but it's been delayed by the need to redirect underground power cables, which is common with projects like this.
We now expect to change over on Thursday 28 May, but this may be subject to further change so keep an eye on this newsletter.
We'll also let you know revised dates for any future works along Woodlands Avenue, and for additional planned works on Church Road and Culver Lane.
Roads reopen this week after works completed
The A329(M) is now open as usual after repairs to a damaged central barrier between Winnersh Triangle and the M4 were completed earlier this week.
Thank you for your patience while we worked to source the materials we needed. These works followed an earlier collision by a vehicle, which then required an immediate lane closure for everyone's safety.
Meanwhile, Edneys Hill and Evendons Lane between Barkham and Wokingham are open again after Scottish and Southern Energy Networks (SSEN) completed their underground investigations earlier than expected.
Don't forget, tomorrow (Friday 8 May) there'll be overnight temporary lights at the Tesco roundabout on Finchampstead Road for final works to the junction of Molly Millars Lane. This will be followed by overnight closures on Saturday and Sunday, marking the final steps in this improvement scheme.
