Repairs to A329(M) set to wrap up very soon
After the central barrier was damaged in a vehicle collision, the A329(M) towards Bracknell is now closed overnight for repairs until Saturday morning (2 May).
The closure is between Winnersh Triangle and Junction 10 of the M4, from 8pm until 6am, with a diversion towards Bracknell via Coppid Beech roundabout.
The road remains open outside these hours, and access between the M4 and Bracknell will be maintained.
There's also a lane closure on the A329(M) Reading bound, between Coppid Beech roundabout and the M4, which is in place both overnight and during the daytime to keep everyone safe until works finish.
The overnight closure is necessary for the repairs to be carried out safely, and all restrictions will be lifted once works finish on Saturday.
Start date for A329(M) works delayed beyond our control
We want to minimise delays and start essential works as soon as possible, but safety comes first and an immediate lane closure was needed to protect motorists.
Following assessment, it became clear that the repairs required non-standard materials so we had to order them before we could start work on Monday (27 April).
We've been working with National Highways to minimise the impact on the M4, including the lifting of additional restrictions during working periods.
In cases like this, we're working very hard behind the scenes even if it might look like nothing's happening at the scene itself.
Thank you for your patience - we know delays are frustrating, but please be assured we've been doing all we can to resolve this situation quickly.

Power company's works set to finish early
Scottish and Southern Energy Networks' road closures on Evendons Lane and Edneys Hill in Wokingham are set to finish much sooner than expected.
The closures were expected to run in phases until Monday 18 May but should now hopefully wrap up by next Tuesday (5 May).
We worked with SSEN, who were investigating underground electrical connections, to help them work as quickly as possible.
See the closure points and dates here, here and here.
It's the Wokingham May Fayre on Monday (4 May) - it's loads of fun, but there'll be closures in parts of the town centre for most of the day. Looking further ahead, there'll be closures in Sonning village centre for the popular Scarecrow Trail and open gardens on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 May.
 Upcoming roadworks
We think these works will be the most disruptive, but you can see a list of all upcoming works in your area or browse our interactive map.
