 Go on a journey with Tabletop Takeover
The Tabletop Takeover is returning to Wokingham Town Hall next month, taking you on an adventure with your favourite board games.
It doesn’t matter if you are already a fan of tabletop gaming or just curious, as there will be something for everyone on Saturday 7 February.
As always, there will be a session running in the morning (9.30am to 12.30pm) and another in the afternoon (2pm to 5pm). Tickets are £4 for adults and £3 under 18s.
Eclectic Games will be leading demonstrations to help you understand how some of the games work.
 Glide, kayak or paddle under the moonlight
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure after dark at Dinton Activity Centre in Hurst.
The Full Moon Glow Paddle is taking place on Sunday 25 January on Black Swan Lake.
Bring your glow sticks and fairy lights and immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere, whether you are gliding on a stand-up paddleboard, kayak, canoe or pedalo.
The event runs from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and tickets cost £30 for adults and £25 for children, which includes the use of your chosen watercraft.
 Help environmental group to mark third anniversary
Join the People, Planet, Pint team as they celebrate their third birthday tomorrow (8 January).
They will be at The Rose Inn in Wokingham from 6pm, looking back on how the group has grown in the last three years.
You can take part in a quiz and listen to two guest speakers on nature restoration and citizen science.
The group meets monthly to discuss how to tackle the climate emergency in an informal setting. It is free to attend.

Live music to wash away those January blues

The Royal British Legion in Winnersh is hosting a tribute to Billy Joel, specialising in his earlier hits.
Whether you're a fan of Piano Man or more of an Uptown Girl, the show promises to be energetic and entertaining.
Join in the fun on Friday 16 January, with the doors open from 7pm for an 8pm start. Tickets cost £25.
Tom Robinson with Adam Phillips
Fresh from his appearance at Wokingham Festival, Tom Robinson will be joined by Adam Phillips for a show at All Saints Church in Wokingham.
See them perform their Then & Now tour on Thursday 29 January at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at £25.
The tour celebrates 50 years in music, with performances featuring classic songs and funny stories.
 Candle making workshop comes to Dinton
Learn how to make your own candle from start to finish at a hands-on workshop, hosted at Dinton Activity Centre in Hurst.
Local supplier Ell & Eve will be leading the session, which takes place on Thursday 29 January from 7pm to 9pm.
Tickets are priced at £45 and this includes a glass vessel, two wax melts, a choice of essential oils and biodegradable glitter to personalise your creation.
Arrival is from 6.30pm onwards and you will be able to purchase drinks on the night.
 See you how you can make big difference
The next volunteer recruitment fair is taking place on Saturday 31 January from 10am to 1pm at Wokingham Town Hall.
There will be a variety of different organisations, looking for all kinds of volunteers, with opportunities for everyone.
The event is free to attend and there is no need to book, so just turn up and have an informal chat with representatives from different charities and see how you can get involved.
