 Business guide updated for 2025
Through our partnership with author My Business Client (MBC) we are pleased to launch the updated Wokingham business guide and itsLocalWokingham website.
Free to register for all borough based businesses (subject to vetting), use the guide and website to promote your business to a wider audience.
As well as being able to advertise your business, the guide gives you an indicator of the business landscape across the borough and also outlines the support services delivered by the council.
The guide is available through the e-book tab on the website. A small quantity of hard copies will be distributed to the council's libraries and larger business parks.
Travel survey - getting to work
If you live or work in Wokingham Borough, we’d like to hear about your commute to work.
How do you get to work typically? Where do you commute to, and from? What might encourage you to change your habits and potentially travel to work more sustainably? We’d like you to tell us in an annual survey.
Your answers will help us identify where we could improve the borough’s transport network – so that it’s easier for you to get to work.
The survey is open until 21 October 2025. After taking it, you can enter a prize draw and be in with a chance of winning one of three £100 Love2shop vouchers.
New team member to work with town centres...
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Warwick Heskins as our new Towns Centre Officer.
He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having successfully operated his own hospitality business for the past 15 years. Prior to this, he held the position of Head Office Senior Internal Auditor for 16 years, demonstrating a strong background in corporate governance and operational oversight.
In addition, Warwick recently served as Chair of the Newbury Business Improvement District (BID) for four years, where he played a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives to enhance the local business environment.
Warwick has strong ties to the local area, having grown up in Twyford, attended school in Woodley, and lived in Earley. His knowledge of Wokingham Borough will be invaluable in supporting the continued development and vibrancy of our town and village centres.
Warwick looks forward to working with all town and village centre businesses and stakeholders as we further develop our strategies and associated actions plans.
