New boutique store opens in the borough
Bumbles and Boo has opened its first-ever boutique shop at Unit 16, Suttons Business Park, Earley, RG6 1AZ.
Founded in 2018 by two working mums, Bumbles & Boo was inspired by the joys and challenges of becoming parents. Named after their daughters’ nicknames, the brand began as a way to create beautiful, practical gifts that genuinely support new families.
The decision to launch a physical store came in response to a noticeable gap in the local market - there simply weren't enough dedicated baby product shops in the area.
As a brand built on the belief that shopping for new arrivals should feel joyful, supportive, and personal, they wanted to offer something special for local families.
The boutique provides a friendly, consultative shopping experience, perfect for parents, grandparents, and gift-givers looking for something truly thoughtful. With free on-site parking and a relaxed, out-of-town setting, visiting couldn’t be easier. They also offer a click and collect service, so you can conveniently shop online and pick up your order in-store.
Co-Founder Emma Weldon (pictured), is delighted to say, "we’re incredibly excited to welcome the local community into our new boutique, and we can’t wait to share our world of thoughtful gifting and baby essentials with you."
Local good causes invited to join community lottery
The Wokingham Borough Community Lottery launched in June and is already raising money for good causes locally, benefiting the borough and our residents.
Many local organisations have signed up as good causes already, but there’s still plenty of room for more to join.
Good causes include local not-for-profit organisations, charities, schools and community groups such as Scouts and sports clubs.
The Community Lottery runs each Saturday. Tickets cost just £1 per week with at least 50p going to good causes. The rest is split between prizes and running costs. There is a minimum play for one month.
Each week players have a chance to win £25,000 if they match all six numbers.
When you play the lottery, you can choose who you want to support.
For businesses not meeting the requirements of being a good cause, you can still get involved.
Your support or sponsorship can help community projects in the borough. This benefits the community whilst also helping to fulfill your social value commitments.
We plan to hold Super Draws throughout the year where players can win multiple prizes. Examples of prizes include vouchers, memberships, dining and activity experiences. If you would like to donate a prize for a Super Draw, email the Community Lottery Team.
