Wokingham Borough Connect
Have your say on our spending for 2026/27
The first phase of consultation on our spending plans for 2026/27 is now open.
You can shape our budget and how your Council Tax is spent.
Most of our spending is committed to services we’re legally required to provide, such as adult and children's social care.
The consultation will focus on the areas where we have more flexibility, known as discretionary spending, and how we might make savings, as well as how we can generate more income.
By taking part in the consultation, you will also have the chance to support our calls for fairer funding.
We receive less Government support per head than other similar councils and so we are more reliant on taxpayers. We receive about £30million a year less from the Government than the average local authority – that works out at about £400 less per household each year.
The Government does not fully factor in some of the highest cost areas, such adults and children’s social care.
 Draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2025-2028
Share your views on our draft ‘Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment’ (PNA).
This is a detailed report on pharmaceutical services in the borough looking at the needs of local residents and the availability of local pharmacy services over the next three years.
The consultation is open until 27 July 2025 and you can view the proposals and share your views on our website.
Call for Forest of Imagination feedback
Thanks to the hundreds of residents who joined us for More about the Forest of Imagination at Dinton Pastures.
The showcase event saw people gather at the country park in Hurst to celebrate nature through arts, culture and education to help imagine and create a better and more sustainable future.
If you attended, we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the installations, workshops and what you thought of the showcase weekend more generally.
Other chances to have your say
Are you organising a new event or activity to bring the community together?
Wokingham Town Council has a new grant scheme to support cultural and community events and activities that support residents of Wokingham Town.
Grants will be directed towards projects that demonstrate a strong commitment to community engagement, inclusivity and cultural enrichment, while also supporting the town council’s vision.
Applications to the Culture and Community Grant Fund are now open and will remain open while funds are available. Applications will be reviewed at the next available Finance and Personnel Committee meeting.
