 Bank holiday fayre returns to help local causes
Wokingham May Fayre returns on Monday 5 May, promising a great family day out with lots of activities.
Organised by Wokingham Lions Club, there will be a children's funfair, mini farm, ferret racing, Morris dancers and around 150 stalls, covering charities, local crafts, commercial and food vendors.
It is the club's biggest annual fundraising event, with all funds going to support local charities.
The day runs from 10am to 5pm and stalls will extend down Denmark Street and through Erftstadt Court towards Elms Field. The funfair will be on Elms Field, along with other rides and food vendors.
 Egg-cellent way to enjoy Easter with the family
Dinton Easter Egg Hunt
Celebrate Easter with our annual hunt at Dinton Activity Centre in Hurst.
Go on an adventure as you search for hidden eggs along a 2km trail, exploring the beautiful surroundings of Dinton Pastures Country Park.
Keep an eye out for clues that will lead you to the ultimate prize - a delicious chocolate treat.
The hunt will be available from 7 to 21 April and it costs £2.50 per child. Visit the activity centre reception to collect your map. Once you've completed the hunt, return it to claim your reward.
Easter Fair
Hop on over to Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst for an Easter Fair on Sunday 6 April.
Organised by JL Events, the fair runs from 11am to 4pm, with face paining, craft stalls, trampolines, small rides and inflatables.
Entry is free and there will also be slime workshops, biscuit decorating and a visit from the Easter bunny. Dogs are welcome and you can bring a picnic blanket.
Earley Easter Extravaganza
Get ready for Easter with a fun-filled afternoon, including an Easter trail at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve.
The Earley Easter Extravaganza takes place on Monday 7 April from 1pm to 4pm, with the proceeds going to the Town Mayor's chosen charity, Daisy's Dream.
Each ticket costs £2.50 and includes one trail sheet, one prize and arts and crafts activities.
Refreshments and cake will be available at the Interpretation Centre after the trail has been completed.
Easter Family Day
Visit Barkham Village Hall on Saturday 5 April to enjoy an Easter egg hunt, inflatable fun, garden games and crafts.
Entry to the Easter Family Day is free and the event runs from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Crafts Fair
The Berkshire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers are hosting an Easter Crafts Fair at Charvil Village Hall on Saturday 12 April from 11am to 3pm.
There will be a range of crafts and gifts to buy, as well as homemade cakes and refreshments.
 Easter activities for children at our libraries
Family fun day
We are hosting a free family fun day on Monday 7 April at Lower Earley Library.
Join us from 10am to 12 noon to take part in an Easter trail, colouring in and much more. We will also have Herbies Hedgehog Rescue, First Days Children's Charity and Thames Valley Police.
Meet guide dogs
We would love to invite families to meet guide dogs and find out more about the vital role they play in helping their owners.
Charity Guide Dogs for the Blind will be at Wokingham Library on Friday 11 April from 10am to 12.30pm. This is a free event and no registration is needed.
Get Arty
Join us for special Easter-themed Get Arty sessions:
- Monday 7 April, Lower Earley Library, 10.30am to 11.30am
- Thursday 10 April, Wokingham Library, 10.30am to 11.30am
- Monday 14 April, Woodley Library, 10.30am to 11.30am
- Tuesday 15 April, Finchampsted Library, 2.15pm to 3.15pm
Enjoy arts and crafts, suitable for children aged four to ten. Places must be booked in advance and there is a £2 charge per child, payable on the day.
Explore Learning workshop
Children can jump straight into this comprehension workshop and learn some fantastic skills that they can apply to any text they read.
The Explore Learning session is being held at Wokingham Library on Wednesday 9 April from 10.30am to 11.30am. It is free to attend, but registration is required as places are limited.
 Annual charity walk offers something for all abilities
Take part in the 14th edition of the Wokingham Walk, a charity walk with routes of five, ten and 15 miles.
Organised by Wokingham Lions, the event starts at Elms Field in Wokingham and will have a rolling start time from 9am to 10.30am on Sunday 13 April. The finish will be manned until 5pm, so there is no need to rush.
The walk costs are:
- Aged 18 and above - £15
- Aged 12 to 17 - £5
- Under 12 - Free
You can simply walk for fun or get sponsored and start a fundraising page for a cause close to your heart. All proceeds from the Wokingham Walk will be used to support local charitable causes.
 Journey to a galaxy far far away at Shinfield Cinema
Have you been to Shinfield Cinema yet? The community resource has been provided by Shinfield Studios and is run by Shinfield Parish Council at the School Green Centre.

The Crumbs café is currently available for the earlier showings, selling popcorn, snacks and drinks. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks.
Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for children under the age of 16 and £4 for concessions.
