Record number of runners ready for half marathon
All 3,700 places have been allocated for this year's Wokingham Half Marathon, which means a record number of runners will be taking part.
The half marathon is set to get underway at 10am on Sunday 23 February at Cantley Park in Wokingham, with thousands of people embarking on a personal challenge or raising money for a worthwhile cause.
Take a look at the route map to see where you can cheer on the runners in addition to Cantley Park, which is where the race will also finish.
Entries are still available but limited for the Mini Mile, which has the following age categories:
- Four and five
- Six and seven
- Eight and nine
- Ten and 11
The event is free for adults in order to accompany their child if they desire and £10 per child, with medals for all finishers.
There is no parking at Cantley Park or on the surrounding roads, but all town centre car parks are available. It is advised that you read the parking information on the event website, as well information about road closures on the day.
This year, there will also be two park and ride options, from Coppid Beech and Winnersh Triangle, to service the event. Parking charges apply, but the buses are free.
Inspiring the next generation of girls to love sport
Just before Christmas, Sky News visited Wokingham Leisure Centre to find out more about the Big Sister Project.
These sessions give girls aged nine to 15 a place to stay active and try out different sports in a supportive environment.
It also offers 50% discount on membership or free membership to those who meet certain criteria.
The project helps girls overcome commonly faced challenges when accessing sport and exercise, with a view to encouraging more of them to pursue sport at the highest level.
Find out more about the Big Sister Project on the Places Leisure website and how you can get involved.
Try indoor climbing sessions with a difference
Do you want to try indoor climbing, but would prefer a quieter and less crowded setting?
Dinton Activity Centre in Hurst offers sessions that are comfortably paced and designed for individuals with additional needs and autism.
Upcoming sessions are taking place on Thursday 30 January, 6 and 20 February, with one-hour slots available from 2pm to 5pm at £11 per person.
These will be limited to a smaller group to allow for a more personalised experience, with only five participants per session and no background music.

Enjoy the great outdoors by joining ramblers
The Loddon Valley Ramblers run regular walks across the borough.

Find a service to help you talk about mental wellbeing
Time to Talk Day (Thursday 6 February) is coming up and is an important opportunity to talk about our mental health.
It is a chance for friends, families and colleagues to come together and help one another with any difficulties they may be experiencing.
The majority of us put on a brave face to avoid talking about our mental health, something Time to Talk Day aims to reverse by creating honest conversations and reducing the stigma of opening up.
Locally, we have a range of health and wellbeing services, including:
You can also find local support services and groups by using our Community Directory.
