Take part in lights trail and help children's charity
The Spencers Wood, Three Mile Cross and Shinfield Christmas lights trail is back and this year is raising money for Sebastian's Action Trust.
This year, the trail will be live until Monday 30 December. There are 27 houses taking part and you can visit these from 5pm to 9pm each evening.
If you take part in the trail, you are asked to write down your favourite house display and there will be a prize for first and second place in each location. Anyone who returns their map with their details will also go into a raffle to win prizes.
Free maps can be collected from the One Stop in Spencers Wood, Budgens at Three Mile Cross and Crumbs in Shinfield. You can also download a digital map from the event website.
Films are the best way to spread Christmas cheer
Four Christmas classics are being shown at Shinfield's new community cinema:
The cinema, run by Shinfield Parish Council, launched at the start of November and has already welcomed hundreds of visitors.
It is located at the School Green Centre, which opened in 2021 and was also secured through developer obligations linked to new housing.

A Santa Dash that is raising money for two charities is coming to Wokingham on Saturday 21 December.

The event is raising money for Dreamflight, a UK charity that takes children with a serious illness or disability on holiday, as well as Parents and Children Together, an adoption charity and family support provider.
