 Reading Road closed next week
Reading Road, Wokingham, will be closed to traffic next Monday and Tuesday.
The closure will be in place between Station Approach and Holt Lane on 28 and 29 October from 7am to 6pm on both days.
There will be no vehicle access during this time and pedestrians will only be able to use the pavement on the Holt Lane side of the road.
The closure is to allow St Paul's Church to carry out work on a diseased tree in the churchyard.
Diversion routes are available on one.network.
National Highways are planning overnight works around junction 10 of the M4 from 10 November for several nights which will include full and partial closures.
Giving you the power - last chance to have your say
It is the last few days to have your say on our draft Electric Vehicle (EV) charging strategy, which sets out the objectives and actions to grow the EV chargepoint network and reduce barriers to EV ownership.
Locally around 2.6 per cent of cars in the borough were electric in 2023. This is set to increase further with the ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035.
New on-street chargepoints, located where there is little or no off-street residential parking will complement residents' own chargepoints at home and those provided by the private sector, offering those who do not have access to off-street parking reliable and accessible public chargepoints near to where they live and work.
The strategy sets out the objectives for the next six years until 2030, including keeping pace with demand and future-proofing the chargepoint network, being accessible for all and supporting and encouraging private sector roll-out.
As well as setting out the work we will do to improve the network, the strategy will also give us further opportunities to apply for government grants when they become available.
