Wokingham Borough Connect
 Local Plan Update
We’re getting ready to submit a new Local Plan for independent examination. This is our vision for how different aspects of the borough should grow and develop to 2040.
It includes the sites where new development such as housing should and should not be allowed, as well as policies on a range of subjects like transport, employment, green space and more.
Before we send the plan for independent examination, you and comment on whether it is sound and legally compliant.
We’ve already consulted extensively on the content of the plan, including proposed locations for new homes and accompanying infrastructure, and incorporated your feedback.
You can read a summary of what we’re proposing on our Engage Wokingham Borough platform, as well as reading the full proposed submission plan and its supporting documents.
Once the plan has passed examination, we hope to adopt it as soon as possible so that it can guide our future decisions and keep the borough a great place to live and work.
The consultation is open until Wednesday, 13 November.
 Youth Voice
We want to hear from 11 to 18 year olds to understand what services and opportunities they would want to have access to.
Why should you take part
Information gained from the survey will feed into the Wokingham Youth Offer Needs Assessment that will identify the services that already exist for young people in the borough, and where there are any gaps. It’s important to get direct feedback from young people we can understand what services and opportunities they would want to have access to.
How to take part
The survey is open to those aged 11 to 18 until 25 October. If you have any questions or need an easy-read version, please email YouthVoice@wokingham.gov.uk.
 Electric Vehicle Charging draft strategy
We want your views on our new Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Strategy, which will set out our plans for making sure charging points are meeting the needs of current and future EV drivers.
Why should you take part
Whether you currently drive an EV, or are considering the switch in the future with new laws on petrol and diesel cars coming in, we want to make sure that the infrastructure is in place to allow you convenient charging. Your feedback will help us understand whether our priorities are the right ones.
Taking the survey
The consultation is open until 27 October and further information about the new strategy along with your opportunity to take the survey, is on our Engage Wokingham Borough website.
 Moving communities
There is still time to give us your feedback about the exercise opportunities available in the borough, as we strive to make improvements and ensure everyone has the opportunity to stay active.
Why should you take part
In partnership with Sport England, we are running a short survey that will help us to understand your views about physical activity, including what challenges you face in getting moving and staying active.
How to take part
The survey is open until Monday 21 October to share your thoughts.
