 Book festival returns for seventh year
Wokingham Children's Book Festival, a celebration of storytelling, imagination and creativity, returns next month.
Now in its seventh year, the festival will be held on the weekend of 19 and 20 October, with a total of 13 events featuring award-winning authors and illustrators.
Sessions will be held at Wokingham Town Hall and Wokingham Library, with a mixture of book readings, crafting and singing. Full line-up and events listing available.
 Nature day comes to Keephatch Meadows
A family-focused nature day is coming to Keephatch Meadows in Wokingham on 14 September.
We’re working alongside the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership to run the free event, from 12 noon to 4pm. Guided walk at 12.15pm with warden Mike and nature rambles available.
Free bike checks from Dr Bike will be available from 1pm to 3pm, so take your bike along for a check, with free fixes if he can. Booking online in advance is required. Free copies of ‘Greenspace on your doorstep’ booklet will also be available to take away.

 New adult education courses launch for autumn
The start of a new school year means we have an updated autumn programme of adult education courses.
There's a new range of courses on offer between now and Christmas, including digital skills, skills for work, family learning as well as our two new courses introducing you to primary school maths.
You can book courses for the weeks ahead on our adult education booking website. Remember to check back in the weeks ahead about other future courses or join one of our waiting lists.

- There’s only a few weeks left to register your interest in Solar Together, our group-buying scheme for solar panels for homes and small businesses. You can get a free, no obligation quote for your property by registering and the cost should be lower as you buy the panels alongside hundreds of other residents
- Now our waste collection changes have been going for a few weeks, you’ll know if you need more green recycling bags or a food waste bin for your property. Remember you can pick them up free of charge from our hubs
