Free Nature Day at Keephatch Meadows
Come along to the free 'Nature Day' at Keephatch Meadows jointly hosted by us and Thames Basin Heaths Partnership on Saturday 14 September, from 12pm to 4pm.
Keephatch Meadows, previously a farmland, is now maintained by us as wildflower hay meadows with ponds, woodland and a natural footpath meandering through the green space in a circular walk.
The highlight of the day will be a guided walk with warden Mike from the partnership to explore the amazing variety of native trees. It will start at 12.45pm from the carpark on Binfield Road, Hurst, and last around 45 minutes.
Dr Bike will also be there to help check your bike and, if he can, fix it for free. Don't forget to book a slot online!
Free wildlife spotter sheets will be given out to help you explore the meadows listed on the 'Greenspace on your doorstep' guide published by our partners. You can also take home a copy of the guidebook for free.
The event is suitable for all, especially families with school age children. No booking is needed, just drop in anytime.
Join the Friends of Speedway's reunion this Sunday (8 September), from 11am to 4pm, at California Country Park to relive the British speedway memories together. Email the club at FriendsofSpeedway@gmx.co.uk for enquiries.
 Storytime returns to activity centre
The free Storytime sessions are returning to Dinton Activity Centre, following a summer break, on:
- Tuesday 17 September at 11am
- Tuesday 22 October at 11am
Tony Knight, a Wokingham rail station platform announcer famous with local commuters for his poetry and story readings, will jointly host the session with our library services team. They will be reading stories and poetry to parents and children, and having fun activities together.
Our Storytime sessions are designed for pre-schoolers aged two to five.
No booking is needed. Just turn up on the day and have a great Storytime!
Paddle, run and have fun at SUPathlon
