 Follow free trail to see the best of the local art scene
The Wokingham Arts Trail is returning on the weekend of 21 and 22 September, giving local artists a platform to exhibit their work.
Now in its 13th year, the free arts trail allows you to visit eight venues in and around Wokingham from 10.30am to 5.30pm on each day.
This year, 30 artists will be featured, demonstrating their skill with ceramics, watercolour, glassware and much more.

 Unlock new perspectives at mindfulness festival
The Mindset Unlimited Festival is set to return to Wokingham on Saturday 15 September.
The festival features back-to-back sessions in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, fitness, nutrition and more.
It is all about discovering new perspectives and empowering yourself to lead a healthier and more fulfilling life.
The day will be opened by Borough Mayor Cllr Adrian Mather and Town Mayor Cllr Rob Comber. There will also be an appearance from X Factor singer Danyl Johnson, who is giving a talk about mental health.
 Take test drive and start your electric vehicle journey
Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of electric vehicles (EVs), e-bikes and e-cargo bikes with hands-on test drives and the opportunity to meet local providers to support your electric journey.
Come along to our free event on Saturday 21 September, which takes place between 9am and 1pm at Elms Field in Wokingham town centre.
At this event, you will have the chance to:
- Test Drive: Experience driving a variety of EVs, e-bikes and e-cargo bikes first-hand from local dealerships
- Network: Connect with suppliers and installers specialising in EVs and associated charging infrastructure. Whether you are interested in installing home chargers or electrifying your business fleet, they can help you navigate the electric world, along with myth busting EV concerns
To participate in the EV test drives, you must carry a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years and be over 21 years of age. Your licence will be required on the day, plus your national insurance number for checking.
 Church celebrates by looking back on last 250 years
A history exhibition is taking place at Wokingham Baptist Church as the 250th anniversary celebrations continue.
As part of Wokingham Heritage Week, the church in Milton Road is inviting everyone to visit on Saturday 14 September from 11am to 3pm. It is free to attend and no booking is required.
You can explore 250 years of local history through displays around the building and activities for children. Find out about the history of the buildings, how the life of the community has changed over the years and enjoy a free tea or coffee and cake.
Several events have taken place this year for the church's anniversary, including a fun day in June and a children's theatre show in July. The celebration service is at 10.30am on Sunday 8 September.
 Caribbean vibes in Wokingham for Sunny Saturday
The third and final Sunny Saturday of the year brings the sounds of the Caribbean to Wokingham.
Local Steel Pan three-piece Shallow Music will be in Peach Place from 11am to 1pm on Saturday 7 September.
Organised by Wokingham Town Council, the event is free to attend and follows two successful events with Blue Sky Big Band and The Barberettes.
 Take in beauty of Keephatch Meadows at nature day
We are organising a free nature day at Keephatch Meadows in Wokingham, in collaboration with the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership.
The event will take place on Saturday 14 September from 12 noon to 4pm and there will be lots to see and enjoy.
Take in a guided walk at 12.15pm or enjoy a self-guided nature ramble any time from 2pm to 4pm. Dr Bike will also be carrying out bike checks from 1pm to 3pm, with pre-booking needed.
Previously farmland, Keephatch Meadows is now maintained as a wildflower hay meadow, providing an excellent habitat for insects, small mammals and birds.
 Workshops on shapes, phonics and telling the time
Explore Learning workshops are taking place at libraries across the borough. In these sessions, children will improve their knowledge by taking on a series of fun challenges.
All workshops are held from 3.45pm to 4.45pm. These are free to attend, but booking is required:
- Woodley Library: Fun with Phonics, Tuesday 10 September
- Winnersh Library: Telling the Time, Wednesday 11 September
- Lower Earley Library: Superhero Shapes, Thursday 12 September
- Wokingham Library: Fun with Phonics, Friday 13 September
- Finchampstead Library: Superhero Shapes, Friday 20 September
