Show makes return this August bank holiday weekend
The Swallowfield Show is back with several new attractions and returning favourites for families this year.
This year's show takes place at Swallowfield Park on Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August, with the gates open from 10am to 5.30pm.
There will be amazing acts performing on both days, more than 100 stalls, a display of more than 150 classic vehicles and machinery and the popular dog and horse shows.
Children can look forward to fun in the activity zone, which is free for the first time this year. This includes circus skills workshops and crazy golf.
The show is organised and run by volunteer members and friends of the Swallowfield Horticultural Society. Last year, they were able to donate more than £24,000 to charities.
Tickets are £13.50 for adults and children (under 18s) get free entry.
Join speedway enthusiasts for their annual reunion
A celebration of British speedway is coming to California Country Park in Finchampstead.
Friends of Speedway is holding its 18th California-in-England Speedway Reunion on 8 September from 11am to 4pm.
You are encouraged to bring along any speedway memorabilia, whether it is vintage programmes, rare photographs or cherished souvenirs. Share your treasures with fellow enthusiasts and relive history together at this annual celebration.
An information board was erected prior to last year's reunion, celebrating the history of speedway at California Country Park. From the 1930s to the 1950s, the park was home to a speedway track.
At the reunion, you will find a stunning line-up of speedway bikes and the old speedway track, with the original concrete starting grid.
Take in picturesque countryside with charity walk
Enjoy a five-mile walk through the countryside with the return of Walk 4 Wards on Sunday 1 September.
Held at Stokes Farm in Wokingham, the fundraising event is organised by the Frimley Health Charity. The purpose is to walk in honour of a ward that has supported you or a loved one, or in memory of someone special.
Entry is £15 per adult, £10 per child, £50 for a group of four people and £40 for two adults and two children.
Dogs are welcome and for young walkers, there is a scavenger hunt to keep them entertained along the walk, which starts at 9.30am.
Heritage of our routes, networks and connections
A heritage open day event is being held at Wokingham Town Hall on Saturday 14 September.
Wokingham Town Council are celebrating this year's theme of 'Routes, Networks and Connections' from 11am to 3pm.
Inside the town hall, there will be displays to help you learn more about the local history.
The market will be open and there will be garden activities at Howard Palmer Gardens, behind the Cockpit Path car park. No booking is required.
Exhibit and vote for your favourites at autumn show
The Twyford & Ruscombe Autumn Show is returning on Saturday 7 September at Loddon Hall in Twyford.
Organised by the Twyford & Ruscombe Horticultural Association, the show is open to members and non-members and runs from 2pm to 4pm.
Take the opportunity to exhibit your favourite flowers, vegetables, art, handicrafts and more. There are even classes for children to enter.
You don't need to exhibit to enjoy the day - just turn up and vote for your favourites while enjoying homemade cakes. Entrance is £1 for non-exhibitors.
Meet the local officers keeping your community safe
Take a chance to meet your local policing team at a community fun day being held in Earley.
The event is being held on the fields at Maiden Place off Kilnsea Drive on Sunday 25 August.
The day runs from 11am to 6pm and is free to attend. As well as officers from Thames Valley Police, there will be staff from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
There will also be an ice cream van and dog and drone units, as well as a visit from our anti-social behaviour team and Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue.
