 Relive British speedway memories together
Did you know California Country Park in Finchampstead was home to a speedway track from 1930s to 1950s?
The Friends of Speedway will be hosting their 18th 'California-in-England Speedway Reunion' on Sunday 8 September from 11am to 4pm. Join them to celebrate the history of British speedway together.
There will be a stunning line-up of speedway bikes, and you will be shown the old speedway track with the original concrete starting grid.
Bring along any speedway memorabilia, such as vintage programmes, rare photographs or cherished souvenirs, and share your treasures with fellow speedway enthusiasts.
There's still time to share your thoughts on our proposals to improve California Country Park. The project will increase the accessibility, enrich the biodiversity and improve the landscape of the park. Complete the online survey before Sunday 18 August.
