We're now into the final week of Beat the Street, a popular community game designed to get everyone exploring Wokingham Borough without using the car.
Run by Intelligent Health in partnership with us, it takes place across Wokingham, Winnersh, Woodley, Twyford, Finchampstead, Hurst, Arborfield and Wargrave until Wednesday, 17 July.
Players tap either a special contactless card or their phones against "beat boxes" to win points, with a map of beat boxes available online. To play using the app, download it for Apple or Android devices.
This week has the theme of Go Celebrate, with all beat boxes giving double points – this can really shake up the local leaderboards, so make sure you keep playing until the game ends!
We're proud to have reached almost 14,000 players, who've travelled almost 141,000 miles between them. How much further can you help us go?
Our last adult cycle training of the term is taking place this Saturday (13 July 2024) at Woodford Park Leisure Centre in Woodley. It's suitable for all levels, from total beginners to improvers, and you can borrow a bike - just bring a helmet! The session costs £11 and can be booked online.

It's quick, free and easy to sign up for Love to Ride's annual Cycle September challenge, which we're supporting to help people travel more sustainably.
All you have to do is register and start logging your trips - which you can do all year round as part of the Love to Ride campaign, but there are loads of extra rewards for doing it in September.
There's a £1,000 cash prize for early birds who register before 31 August, a grand cash prize of £2,000 and a prize draw for those who encourage others to sign up.
There are also workplace prizes as well as goodies like sweaters, T-shirts and more.
You can log journeys and win points with the Love to Ride app (available for Apple or Android devices) or by syncing it to Strava or MapMyRide, and there are points for getting your friends and family on board!
Our California Cross improvement project at Finchampstead continues to progress, and we're still working to minimise the impact - as well as keeping you informed. You can read all the major updates in this newsletter or get more detailed updates in our special California Cross newsletter.
![resurfacing](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKWOKBC/2020/12/3936990/resurfacing_original.jpg) Update on our annual road maintenance
Our annual road maintenance campaign continues, with resurfacing works taking place on Murdoch Road, Norreys Ave and Arborfield Road in Wokingham town.
We’d like to thank you for all your patience as the team work their way around the borough. All asphalt preservation works are now complete, with the team just needing to return to complete some lining works.
Our surfacing dressing works are also complete, with works to replace the lining ongoing, apart from Colemansmoor Road in Woodley and the Woosehill Spine Road in Wokingham which have been rescheduled to the end of August.
As with any programme of this scale, schedules sometimes need to be switched around - so our most up to date schedule is live on our website, along with more detailed information and answers to common questions.
You can also find information about our footway maintenance programme, which starts later this month.
