Draft new Berkshire RE syllabus for comment
Please find here ppt slides from the recent cross phase RE network meeting, led by our RE advisor, Angela Hill, which provide contextual information on the review of the Berkshire RE syllabus which is now reaching its final stages. The current draft of the new Berkshire RE syllabus can be found here, together with notes of the feedback on the syllabus given by teachers at the network meeting. Teachers have been overwhelmingly positive in their responses to the draft syllabus.
Angela, and the two other RE advisors writing the syllabus (Anne Andrews, advisor to Bracknell Forest and RBWM SACREs, and David Rees, advisor to Reading and West Berkshire SACREs) would welcome feedback from teachers who weren’t able to attend the network meeting. Feedback from secondary school teachers would be particularly welcome, as there were no secondary teachers at the network meeting.
Please provide any feedback you would like to give by the 19th July.
Feedback should be sent to Emily Waddilove – Emily.waddilove@wokingham.gov.uk (There is no need to repeat any points that are included in the notes of the feedback given at the network meeting.)

Have you got a refugee child/young person in your school?
Drawing & Talking Therapy and Sand Play Therapy is available - New cohort to start in SEPTEMBER 2024
Drawing and Talking and Sand Play Therapy is a safe and gentle therapeutic approach, which provides an effective way for children to process emotional pain or trauma they may be experiencing.
Children and young people are impacted emotionally by many different events, struggles or traumas. Sometimes they are unable to make sense of how they are feeling and how those feelings are impacting on their happiness and ability to navigate the world.
Drawing and Talking is a very powerful tool and can help with improving school attendance and support a child with settling in a new school environment.
All sessions taking place in your school setting and are delivered by an Advanced D&T Practitioner employed by the WBC.
This is a free service to all children from Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
If you have a refugee child in your school and she/he needs emotional support, please contact the Education Welfare Service, or email - Aga.Kudlak@wokingham.gov.uk

How do I book a training course with the council? Most courses are listed on the Training Calendar (wokingham.gov.uk) and will make it clear how to book.
How do I book a course that is on My Learning? Courses advertised as being on 'My Learning' need to be booked directly, by the delegate, on the My Learning website. My Learning is a personal training tool it requires the individual learner to book using their email address and password which they set up the first time they log in.
