What's been happening
The project team have been focused on preparation works to allow the installation of the new drainage network within the phase two closure. They have successfully overcome a number of obstacles including existing pipework not shown on plans provided by utility companies.

Current time scales for the project
With any project of this scale, it is difficult to provide set dates as there are so many variables. As we saw in phase one things like the weather and the discovery of unknown existing pipework means we need to adapt and make changes and come up with alternative solutions.
However, we thought it would be helpful if we provided some key upcoming dates we are currently working to, with the understanding that these may change.
The majority of phase two works are due to be completed by early to mid August. However, some aspects of phase two, like resurfacing and lining works, are due to be completed overnight under a road closure during phase three.
We plan to have an additional team joining the project on 24 June, which will allow us to start phase three drainage works earlier than planned, while our current team are working on the phase two programme.
We aim to reopen the crossroads early to mid August, with temporary traffic lights remaining in place, but this is subject to change. The majority of works are due to be completed by 2 September but some aspects, including some overnight resurfacing and linings works, are currently due to take place between early to mid September.
