 Start your engines! Classic motor show returns
The Wokingham Lions Classic Motor Show will return to Elms Field on Saturday 15 June, from 10am to 3pm and it is free to attend.
The show was first held in 2022 and is back by popular demand, with room for more than 100 vehicles.
It will provide a great day out for families, as well as anyone who is interested in classic cars, motorcycles and other forms of classic vehicles.
Anyone interested in entering their vehicle should complete an application form on the Wokingham Lions website. If selected, you will receive a link to the booking system to confirm your place.
There is with a small £10 donation, which will be used to help fund the charities that Wokingham Lions Club supports throughout the year.
 Four routes to test your pedal power at bikeathon
The Wokingham Bikeathon is back, returning to Cantley Park on Sunday 23 June. It is a fun and relaxed way to enjoy cycling on quieter roads and is open to adults and children.
This year, there are four routes to choose from:
- 15 miles - A loop north of Wokingham, taking in beautiful countryside, which is perfect for families and those new to cycling
- 25 miles - A stepping stone up from the short route, also taking in a loop north of Wokingham
- 35 miles - The popular long route from 2019 is back and unchanged. This route is ideal for people who have been building up their cycling distance
- 51 miles - A new addition for 2024 following many requests for an extra long route. Takes in parts of South Oxfordshire and heads towards Bracknell before finishing in Wokingham
Entries close at 12 noon on Thursday 20 June. Children under the age of 12 can take part for free, while entry for children aged 12 to 17 is £5 or free with a paying adult. The adult price is £20 and there is an optional sustainable medal for £3.
 Free fun day at Dinton Pastures for Father's Day
Come along with your dad to celebrate Father's Day at Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst.
For the first time, JL Events is hosting a Father's Day fun day at our flagship country park on Sunday 16 June, from 11am to 4pm, with free admission.
There will be a variety of activities for families, from classic cars to inflatables, delicious food and drinks, games, craft stalls and more.
 Local events running to help put carers on the map
The Wokingham Carers Partnership is organising a series of free events to celebrate Carers Week 2024 (10 to 16 June).

- Thursday 13 June: Coffee afternoon at FBC Centre, Finchampstead, 1pm to 3pm and bingo evening at BJs Bingo, Reading, 5.30pm to 9.30pm
- Friday 14 June: NHS bus and information event at Woodley shopping centre, Crockhamwell Road, 10am to 1pm
The theme for this year’s national campaign is about ‘putting carers on the map’ and aims to highlight the need for more recognition and support for unpaid carers.
 A harmonious mixture of songs at summer concert
Wokingham Choral Society are returning to All Saints Church in Wokingham for a Summer Concert on Saturday 15 June.
The concert is called 'A Song for Summer' and will feature a range of songs from British composers.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £5 for students and under 18s. Children under the age of five can attend for free. Refreshments will be served before the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, as well as at the interval.
 Build confidence and self-esteem at sports sessions
Sport in Mind provides sport and physical activity opportunities for children and young people to help build confidence and self-esteem.
These are free to attend and are a great way to meet new people and support low mood.
Sessions are running at:
- St Crispin's Leisure Centre, Wokingham - Badminton and table tennis, Mondays from 5pm to 6pm, suitable for children aged 13 to 16
- Bulmershe Leisure Centre, Woodley - Sports and games, Tuesdays from 5pm to 6pm, suitable for children aged 10 to 14
- Wokingham Leisure Centre - Sports and games, Thursdays from 4pm to 5pm, suitable for children aged 10 to 14

 Wokingham charity marks Learning Disability Week
A charity that supports adults with learning disabilities is hosting a variety of activities as part of Learning Disability Week.
Members of CLASP Wokingham will be celebrating this year’s theme ‘Do You See Me?’ which is all about being seen, heard and valued.
Ahead of the week, which runs from 17 to 23 June, the CLASP choir will be singing outside Waitrose in Wokingham, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
Other events being held during Learning Disability Week include a Mini Olympics, a social evening at the Sedero Lounge in Wokingham and a cycling session with My Journey Wokingham.

 Find out more about volunteering in your community
A volunteer recruitment fair is being held at Twyford Library on Tuesday 25 June.
The event runs from 10am to 12 noon and is free to attend, with a chance to find out more about the volunteering opportunities available locally and speak with existing volunteers.
It is being hosted by Wokingham Volunteer Centre, in partnership with our Community Engagement Team.
