Wokingham Borough Connect
 What's coming up
We will be installing block paving next week between Londis Red Oak Store and the California Ratepayers Hall.
 What's been happening
Excavation works have continued this week along the stretch between Londis Red Oak Store and the California Ratepayers Hall. New kerb lines were dug out and kerb stones installed.
The team have also completed the final parts of the phase one drainage works.
Access to parking outside Londis Red Oak Store and Bob's Fish and Chip Shop switched over on Tuesday (7 May) with access to the car park now via Nine Mile Ride. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout and signage in relation to this car park will be switched to accommodate the new access arrangements.
Phase two still on track to starts 23 May
From 23 May, we plan to move into phase two of the crossroad improvement project and the sections of Nine Mile Ride and Finchampstead Road that are currently closed will reopen.
We then plan to close Finchampstead Road from Wild Acres Rest Home to the crossroads and Nine Mile Ride will be closed from the junction of Wick Hill Lane to the crossroads.
Access will be maintained to residential properties within the closure.
Further details on the road closure and diversion routes can be found on our website and signage will be in place along the diversion routes.
 Support your local businesses
If you're going out to pick up a pint of milk or a takeaway, filling your car up with petrol, or looking for somewhere to go on the weekend, remember to think of your local businesses first.
We're working with local business owners to encourage everyone to support shopping and doing business locally.
