Go on an adventure with new friends at gaming day
The Tabletop Takeover is returning to Wokingham Town Hall, offering the chance to enjoy a range of board games.
Join in the fun on Saturday 3 February with sessions running in the morning (9.30am to 12.30pm) and the afternoon (2pm to 5pm).
Games will appeal to adults and teens alike and there are even some suitable for young children. This year will see taster sessions of Dungeons & Dragons introduced to celebrate the roleplaying game turning 50 this year.
Tickets are £4 per person, but there are early bird offers (£3 per person) and discounts for group tickets.
Award-winning short story writer will share her craft
Come and meet author Alice Fowler and hear about her life as a writer and how she found the inspiration for her prize-winning short story collection.
She will be giving a talk at Wokingham Library on Tuesday 30 January from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Her debut short story collection The Truth Has Arms and Legs, was published last summer.
It is free to attend but places must be booked via our library events website. Her books will be available to purchase at the event.
Get in the zone at new group for mothers and babies
Starting on Friday (12 January) a group for new mums and babies called Mums' Zone is starting in Winnersh.
The first meeting will run from 1pm to 3pm at The Rainbow Community and Children's Centre and is for mothers who have had their six-week check (eight to 12-week check if the mother has had a C-section).
For the first half of the session, mums can take part in gentle stretches and exercise with their baby, lead by a qualified yoga teacher. After this, you can meet with the other mums and have a chance to socialise.
Sessions are £2 and run on Fridays during term time. Anyone who is interested in attending can email our Community Engagement team.
