Get into the festive spirit with Santa
As we are approaching the holiday season, many of us may have started planning to do something festive. Apart from Christmas markets, lightings or films, you can be a bit more active.
At Dinton Pastures Country Park, there will be two Santa-themed events coming up next month.
Santa Paddle
On 9 and 10 December (Saturday and Sunday), grab your Santa or festive costume and join us for a guided Santa Paddle.
The two-hour event (from 10.30am to 12.30pm) is suitable for everyone aged eight or above. You can choose to head out on the water in a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and enjoy paddling in the beautiful Black Swan Lake for an hour and a half. Then, come back ashore to have a hot chocolate and a mince pie to warm yourself up again.
Don't worry if you haven't paddled before! Our experienced instructors from Dinton Activity Centre will be there to help you get started and have a great time.

Santa Dash
The Santa Dash organised by Barnes Fitness will return to Dinton Pastures on Saturday 16 December.
An annual tradition now, the event is fun-filled, festive and suitable for the whole family. All runners will be dressed in a Santa suit and after crossing the finish line receive a Christmas medal and a mince pie or chocolates.
There is no minimum age requirement. You and your children can choose to complete a 2km or a full 5km fun run together, both of which are not timed.
Taking part in the run will also help children who are in need of warm beds this winter, as Barnes Fitness will donate £2 of each entry to First Days Children’s Charity for the good cause.

Winter Wild Days holiday club is back
Booking is now open for the Winter Wild Days holiday club from 18 to 22 December at Dinton Pastures.
The winter version of the Wild Days is different from those in other seasons. It will be held on land only and this year, we will be adding festive-themed activities to the programme including Christmas crafting, Santa's treasure hunt and fire lighting.
The Wild Days sessions are specially designed for your young ones aged 8 to 13. Each session, either in the morning or afternoon, will consist of two activities.
With our professional instructors from Dinton Activity Centre, your child will make the most of each session in a fun and safe environment.

Christmas wreath making at Jackson's Café
In the run-up to Christmas, Polly's Garden will be hosting their popular Christmas wreath making workshops at California Country Park again. They will be held on Friday 1 and Monday 4 December, from 6.30pm to 9pm, at Jackson's Café.
For £55 per person, you will be provided with everything you need, including equipment, foliage and decorative elements, to make a fresh, beautiful wreath for this festive period.
This year, Jackson's Café has put together a festive menu for workshop participants to pre-order, so everyone can enjoy a perfect evening of good food and fun.
Last year's workshop was sold out very quickly. Book online soon to avoid disappointment.
