Ready, steady, go for Saturday morning fun
Finally, it's feeling more like summer! Why not join the free parkruns in our country parks to get some fresh air and enjoy some time in nature?
Parkrun is a free 5km event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. It takes place at Dinton Pastures and California Country Park at 9am every Saturday, alongside a 2km junior version at Dinton for children aged four to 14.
These runs are organised by volunteers and completely free to join. All you need to do is to register with the organiser online before your first run. Once the registration is done, you can join as many runs as you like.
There are also Saturday parkrun events at Woodford Park, Woodley. Find out more on the event website if you are interested.
Help us get nature back on its feet
Here's your chance to help us reverse the continuing decline of British wildlife by restoring and expanding natural habitats.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is launching Local Nature Recovery Strategies to bring about an increase in biodiversity - and we're supporting the creation of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Berkshire.
You'll be able to take part in shaping this strategy later in the year, as part of a consultation which will be led by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
Before this launches, why not sign up to one of the introductory webinars to understand more about how you can contribute?
There are webinars aimed at different audiences including residents, farmers, foresters, landowners and land managers, businesses, non-governmental organisations, developers and more.
Can you spot Britain's largest beetle?
Did you know that stag beetles are decreasing in the UK and have even become extinct in a couple of European countries?
Help save them by joining the Great Stag Hunt to record your sightings of this threatened species.
Stag beetles used to be a common sight, especially in the south of the UK. They are Britain's largest land beetles - but don't worry, they are harmless.
You may see them flying around on warm summer evenings, or you might dig up the large, white grubs, called larvae, in the garden.
The Great Stag Hunt, led by People's Trust for Endangered Species (PTES), is part of a wider initiative to monitor stag beetle numbers and find ways to protect them.
