More chances for holiday fun in the sun
We've added more places to the Summer Holiday Wild Days holiday club at Dinton Pastures Country Park, due to popular demand.
New places in August are now open for booking, if you still want to sign up your children to one of the half-day sessions.
Wild Days holiday club is designed for ages eight to 13. In each session, children take part in two different land or water activities, such as indoor climbing, archery, raft building or paddleboarding.
Free bike check to keep your riding safely
We're offering free bike checks at Dinton Pastures Country Park car park (RG10 0TH) next Thursday (27 July), from 10:30am until 12:30pm.
Dr Bike will be there to diagnose any issues with your bike. If any parts are needed or it's beyond the scope of the session, he will let you know and give you some advice and options to get you ready to ride.
Advance booking is required, so book a slot now if you are interested!
Heath Week 2023: Free activities for everyone
Heath Week is running again this summer with lots of free activities for everyone.
During Monday 24 July to Sunday 30 July, there will be guided butterfly and insect walks, self-guided nature trails, wildfire roadshows in collaboration with fire & rescue services, family nature days, scavenger hunts and more.
These activities are especially popular among families with school age children, and many also welcome dogs on leads.
Some events require advance booking, so be sure to check the Heath Week website before you go.
Heath Week, organised by our partners at Thames Basin Heaths Partnership, celebrates local heathland, its rare wildlife and cultural history across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
Marvellous this weekend: vintage plane display
Come join the 20th anniversary of Marvellous Festival at Dinton Pastures this weekend (22 and 23 July).
To celebrate the occasion, the tribute festival's organiser will present an aerobatic display by the world's only remaining airworthy Hurricane, the aircraft that played a vital role in the Battle of Britain.
For this year's line-up and ticket information, visit the Marvellous website.

New eco-friendly allotments in Twyford
We’ve given a modern makeover to a century-old allotment site at Twyford, in partnership with the parish council.
The previously unused allotments at Hurst Road now boast green innovations like a shed with plug sockets powered by solar panels and an odour-free "dry" or composting toilet that doesn’t use water or chemicals.
The £33,000 scheme is welcoming applications from residents of the Matthewsgreen area in the emerging new community at North Wokingham.
It was funded by contributions from developers building new homes in as part of their obligation to fund local amenities.
We know this is important, particularly as we face pressures on our own finances, and require them to provide money through legal agreements linked to their planning permissions.
