 Get on your bike to win prizes in September
Cycle September is a fun and friendly annual competition that offers you, your colleagues and employees the chance to win prizes – and if you sign up by the end of August, you’ll be added to the draw for a £3,000 electric bike.
The main prize this year is a £4,000 holiday, with others including Brompton bike hire subscriptions, cycling accessories and clothing. All you need to do for a chance to win is register on the Love to Ride website and start logging your journeys.
Anyone can sign their workplace up to the scheme and compete for the top spot on the local leaderboard, and those who encourage others to take part will have a higher chance of winning prizes.
Cycle September offers a simple, effective and enjoyable way for businesses to meet their health, wellness and sustainability goals – and it’s a fantastic talking point that helps to build stronger teams.
Talking of transport, we’re also supporting the National Highways and Transport network (NHT) with our annual surveys. Please take a minute to give your views using the business user satisfaction survey.

We're pleased to invite local employers like you to attend, to promote your September vacancies and Christmas roles with local jobseekers and DWP customers.
We’re delighted as we already have some fantastic private and public sector employers attending this event, alongside partner organisations such as the local JobCentre Plus (DWP) team and the National Careers Service - please do come along and join us to discuss your vacancies over coffee and tea.

 New business makes town centre its home
Wokingham is delighted to welcome The Original Factory Shop, which has moved into the former M&Co store in Market Place. The discount retailer stocks a range of clothing, pet products, electricals and homewares, and offers a party shop service.
Brands stocked include Adidas, Nike, Clinique, Olay, Ralph Lauren, Converse, Hugo Boss, Carhartt, Armani and Joules.
Regional business development manager Jo French said: “The Original Factory Shop is a national business made up of over 180 local businesses, so we’re really excited to be in Wokingham and bringing our value offering to the local community.”

We’re appealing for commercial ideas to be put forward for all land, property, facilities or any other assets we own - though we’d like to stress that we’re not considering selling any, nor changing any existing contracts.
We’ve issued this call for register of interest in response to our difficult financial situation as we need to ensure we’ve explored all appropriate commercial opportunities.
This is an initial invitation with no commitment and no proposals will be agreed without consulting anybody who could be affected. We want to gauge whether any external organisation or company is interested in any type of short, medium or long-term use of any of our assets.
This includes parks and country parks, highways, waterways, pathways, open land, sporting or outdoor venues and pitches, council offices, our commercial buildings, recreational facilities, shops, car parks and public spaces. The scope of this is deliberately very wide to allow creative ideas to come forward.
 Our new website is now live!
As part of our digital and technology strategy, we are developing flexible digital services which are easy to use and meet the needs of our customers. Improving our website is a key element of this.
