Wokingham Borough Connect
 Beginner cycle classes for adults
Our My Journey Team are reaching out to residents who have never ridden a bike before, or haven't been on a bike for a long time and have lost confidence.
This National Bike Month, our team are inviting those interested in taking part to join us this Saturday (27 May) from 10am to 11am.
The session will take place at the tennis courts at Woodford Park Leisure Centre in Woodley (RG5 4LY) where we will focus on you learning the basic skills of cycling. You can borrow a bike but you need to provide your own helmet.
This session costs £10 but if you feel unable to pay this cost for any reason please get in contact to discuss options with us. We wish to remove barriers to cycling, so whilst we need to cover our costs we don't want this to stop anybody from attending.
If you cannot make this weekend, there are lots more sessions coming up so make sure you book your spot today.

Significant changes to GWR rail timetable
Great Western Railway (GWR) is responding to changes in passenger travel patterns and making significant changes to its railway timetables in the Thames Valley which will affect services from Wargrave and Twyford.
This week saw the level of service on the Elizabeth line reach the maximum planned level with up to 10 trains an hour east of Heathrow Airport Junction travelling into London.
These planned improvements have allowed GWR to make changes to better shape services in the Thames Valley and will see services retimed to align with mainline services, allowing them to better connect with destinations across the south of the UK.
The number of GWR services on an average weekday will increase from 1,643 in May 2019 to 1,720 in May 2023. Passengers will also benefit from carbon reductions from changes in the type of train used on some routes.
