 A free party that will definitely get you into the groove
Enjoy live music from a variety of artists at Party in the Park, which is being held on Saturday 3 June in Elms Field, Wokingham.
Organised by Wokingham Town Council, the party starts at 3pm. The line-up features Vogue Madonna, The Midnight Soul Sisters, local rock and pop band Majestix and Wild Boys, who will be closing the show with the best songs from the 1980s.
Entry is free and there will be a variety of sweet and savoury street food available throughout the day, with the event running until 9pm.
So, save the date, gather family and friends together and come along and join in the party!
 Pedal power! Bikeathon is back bigger and better
This year’s Wokingham Bikeathon will take place from 8.30am on Sunday 11 June starting and finishing at Cantley Park, Wokingham.
The event is run by volunteers and all surplus funds are donated to local charities. It also promotes cycling to young people and families who are not already keen cyclists, as well as offering longer routes for regular cyclists. Some 800 riders of all ages and abilities took part last year.
On offer this year are:
- Four routes: 15 miles, 25 miles, 35 miles and a new 50-mile route
- Stunning local scenery and signposted family-friendly routes
- Refreshment and toilet stops en route

Kidical Mass family ride over a two-mile route (starting at 10am)
- Children’s bike obstacle course
- Free medals donated by My Journey Wokingham for all the kids taking part
- Dr Bike checks and bike security marking
- A host of other attractions and exhibitors including food and drink, My Journey Wokingham, charities and local cycling clubs

 Stride out for Summer Series at Dinton Pastures
Now in its 11th year, the Dinton Summer Series is returning to Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst.
Organised by Barnes Fitness, competitors have the option to run in a 5km or 10km event at 7.30pm on Thursday 8 June.
Your time will be chipped and your result will be available as soon as you cross the finish line, with trophies for the top three in different categories.
The 5km event is one lap of the flat course and those who feel like testing themselves can go around a second time for the 10km option.
If you are unable to run on 8 June, the Summer Series presents you with the chance to run at Dinton on Thursday 13 July (7.30pm) and Thursday 10 August (7pm).
It costs £21 to take part in the 5km race and £23 for the 10km race. If you want to sign up for all four events, it is £76 for the 5km series and £84 for the 10km series.
 Free workshops from Explore Learning at our libraries
Join the Explore Learning team for free taster sessions that will help your little ones learn new skills.
- Telling the Time Workshop at Wokingham Library on Wednesday 31 May, from 11.30am to 12.30pm. Suitable for children aged five to seven and registration is required
- Superhero Shapes Workshop at Woodley Library on Friday 2 June, from 10.30am to 11.30am. Suitable for children aged four to six and registration is required

 Helping to improve your mental health and wellbeing
Mind in Berkshire is running a series of free, mental health sessions throughout the year aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing for Wokingham Borough residents.
The next mental health and wellbeing community alliance session, takes place on Tuesday 13 June, 10am to 11.30am and is online.
If you are a voluntary or community sector (VCS) organisation or group with a particular focus on improving the mental health and wellbeing of people living in Wokingham Borough, this event is for you.
The aim of the alliance is to improve the experience of people accessing mental health and wellbeing support – through responding collaboratively to identified needs in the community.
