Wokingham Borough Connect
Have your say about our local transport plan
Thank you to all of you who have completed our Local Transport Plan survey and shared your views about getting around the borough.
There is still time to take part and we'd especially like to hear from young people who aren't old enough to drive yet. We'd love to hear more about how you find getting around the borough.
Results from the survey will feed into our Local Transport Plan that is being updated. It is an official document guiding how we make all kinds of improvements to footways, cycle lanes, roads and other transport networks as we face the challenges of the decades to come.
This will offer more ways of getting around and more chances to leave the car at home, especially for shorter journeys, helping us to reduce air pollution and traffic congestion, tackle the climate emergency and help you to live healthily.
Prizes on offer for walking, cycling and more
Our My Journey Team have launched their Wokingham Wednesday challenge to encourage active travel around the borough!
Hosted on the Innovation Valley Rewards smartphone app, participants who walk, cycle or scoot for at least 20 minutes a day for seven consecutive days will earn a ticket into the weekly prize draw.
Train and bus users can also take part when travelling at least one mile a day for seven consecutive days.
The prizes up for grabs this month include a £60 Mindful Chef e-voucher, a £30 Everyman cinema voucher and a three-month Brompton bike hire subscription.
Each weekly challenge starts on a Wednesday and finishes the following Tuesday with the draw taking place the next day.
 Doctor Bike is back!
Are you a warmer weather rider? With Spring fast approaching, you may be thinking of getting back in the saddle. If your bike is in need of a little TLC then we are here to help.
Dr Bike will be carrying out free bike checks at the green on Garrett Drive, Heritage Park, Shinfield, RG2 9BT on Saturday 11 March, 10am to 2pm, so why not head down to help ensure your bike is roadworthy for your journeys ahead?
If there are any parts needed or it's beyond the scope of the session he'll let you know and give you some advice and options to get your bike ready to ride.
Places are limited and booking is essential via the My Journey Wokingham website.
Report a pothole or an issue with a road
Did you know you can report problems, such as potholes, damaged street lights or even an obstruction in the road online?
Our map based highways reporting system is a simple way to report issues with the roads quickly via our website and we can even update you on the progress of your query if you choose to leave your email address.
